Tonight is my last night here at Fredonia. I've been here as a student since the Spring of 2009, with the exception of Fall 2009 I had off because of finances. Either way, it's my final night. 

I'm technically a graduate now O.O 

I'm a college graduate. 

I've known nothing but school since I was 5. Yes I had the semesters off in Fall 2008 and 2009. But, I was still an undergrad of sorts. 

Now I'm a graduate. 

It's a strange, bittersweet feeling. I got an awesome suite this year in 207, and had friends in 208 and 209 as well. It was a nice change from the crap I had to deal with in 205 last year. I still keep in touch with 2 of them. That's it. 

Since I had such an awesome suite, this semester even with its ups and downs still was one of the best I had. Which is a good thing if you think about it. I had the easier classes and the much awesome suites and this made it a very good semester. It was a good way to end my time here. 

This entire week has been really hard. Monday I had a bad day which stemmed from a not so easy Sunday night with my paper for my Inter- American  class. I still went to the exam even though I didn't have to. Tuesday was interesting since it was also my last day of finals here since I didn't have to take the one I had for the class I had the paper for since I got an A in the class. That and I also worked Night Desk Monday night till 3.30a and had an 8.30a exam for Spanish. I studied that to death and then spent the day in Fenton in the café and studied for over 2hr for my International Migration exam. My final exam here. And it was fitting since it was with the one professor I've had since my first semester here. I've always had him as one of my professors all my time here. It was bittersweet. I almost cried a few times during the final. Not because I was stuck since I did go very quickly through the exam. But, because of it being my final exam with him and at this school. 

I'm still processing my thoughts around the fact that I'm a college graduate, I'm pretty much guaranteed getting Cum Laude at this point. I have 3 As (1 A and 2 A-) And my International Migration class I'm getting at least a B. 

The fact I'm hearing from my family pride and Mike calling me his grad, is making me sit here with happy emotions. But, the memories of the fun I had as a student here, my involvement in Pagan Student Union and the friends I made, I have the sad feelings. 

Later today when I go home, that will be a big test. Since I leave with everything. I don't leave anything here over break. I packed my stuff, and I packed everything. 

It has been fun being here, I will miss it and I'll miss the friends I made in 207-09 and all throughout the campus and my time here. 

But, now it is time for me to move on to bigger things. ^^" Like graduate school. I'm filling out my application very soon. Both the professors I asked are going to send theirs right before, around, or right after New Year's. We worked it out that way so I can have my application sent in, their letters will come, and then my transcripts will come around then, if not right before or right after the professors mail the letters. 

So, lets see how this goes. :/

3 weeks left

So now begins my last 3 weeks as a student here in Fredonia. Also my last 3 weeks as an undergrad. It's kind of scary, it's also bittersweet.
However, it's my favourite time of year. It's Christmas time. I still have to figure out what to put on my Christmas list to Mike's family.

I left my kantele at home. :( I feel naked without it. Oh well, I get to be reunited with it in a few weeks. ^^

Break was short. That is all. I miss my kitty, I miss Mike. I'm excited to spend Christmas with him. :)

Unintended day off

As the title reads. Unintended day off it is. I slept past my alarms this morning for some reason :/ So, I missed my ONLY class today.
I guess I should spend it doing school work. Which is fine with me.

 OMG!!!! My kantele just left Finland an hr ago!!!!!!!!!

gah!

Dear Tomorrow,
hurry up. I am getting antsy for my e-mail from Melodia Soitin telling me my kantele left the company and here's my tracking number.

I want my kantele... I would also like it safe.

I guess I'm willing to wait.
Now back to my reading for class ^^"

Wonderful things ahead

So, I have not much really that has been going on. Except that last Thursday (15.9) Mike and I hit 5 years together. ^_^ I was thinking of putting a sappy ass post on here, but I'm not the type of person to bombard things like that.

I'm more like:

We've been together 5 years, and through these 5 years despite everything we've been through, have been very good years. I'm happy, you make me feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I look forward to when we start our life together when I finish school. 

Any sappier- I would say it to him. 

Either way, I am a very happy person. I'll be happy when I come home in December when I graduate. ^^ 

Cooking front: 

Suck. I have no oven so no baking. -.- But I can cook. I usually don't do much yet since it's just myself and I have 14 meals a week. I use them. That and I have a lot of food.

Come back to me in a few weeks when I have Mike here for the weekend (6-9 Oct) he's visiting me. ^^ I figure I'll cook a nice meal for him during the weekend one of the nights. 

Health:

I apparently weigh 197. -.- I have started working out on some of the days I don't have my Aerobics class. I've been enjoying that a lot. ^^ I also have started to pay more attention to what I eat. I'm happy with how I am doing. Just unhappy with the weight. :/ 

School: 

Surprised it's going good. Nothing seems too challenging. Well.. It's just the right amount of challenge. ^^ 

Same amount of readings for a class with Dr. Caviedes that I am used to. ^_^

Cat:

Eli is doing awesome. I found out that my kitty is gaining pretty much most of the weight he had lost when the diabetes was kicking his ass. Mom said that he is stocky and heavy again ^^ 

Emi: For awhile we were scared she wasn't eating. Turns out she hates the wet food they feed her. But, she likes the dry food. So, she has been eating. Dad said she looks like she's lost a couple pounds. So, she's getting healthy like me ^^

Kantele:
Comes next week. It leaves Melodia Soitin on Friday. The e-mail reads it is scheduled to leave them on Friday. ^^ So, I'll find out Thursday night (the kantele is coming from Finland) I'm excited. I already got the book I bought for it. I bought "My Kantele is My Teacher" by Lani K. Thompson. ^^ I was sooo excited. I read it a bunch of times over and over. 

Other than that, not much ^^

Oh Labour Day,
I'm not used to having a day off. I'm also not used to not having a lot of reading to do. Yes I have readings to catch up on. oooooo 2 chapters to catch up on and then 1 more for Wednesday and... Oh yeah.. No class at 4.30 on Wednesday o.o just a small 2-3pg paper I believe. ^^"
I'M LOST!!! Dammit! I want my kantele!!! Today would have been perfect to sit and practice. But nuuuu I didn't open my account till the last week before summer. And I had to wait for my parents to take forever to mail it. *facepalm*
Anyway. I'll be fine. I'll just read 2 chapters to catch up on and veg out. Yup. Sounds awesome.

I'll figure something out. Yup. did so.

oooo recipe!!!

I have this thing about wanting to make a bunch of food and make Mike eat it. Which I know for a fact he will LOVE to be my guinea pig. He loves trying stuff I make. We always know that if he doesn't like it, there will be soup in the cupboard. 

Now if I could just get lingonberries. I love the flavour of them. I bought one time a bottle of lingonberry, apple carbonated juice stuff from the book store on campus. I loved how tart the drink was. :) 

Now to find them here in the states... Which I intend to. I do enjoy tart fruits. ^^ 

Another thing I enjoy is baking. Mike has mentioned how good I am at baking. He loves my cooking but, he realises my main area is baking. 

He can tell people that for a fact how good I am. 

Anyway, I found this recipe that I think would be interesting off of a Food From Finland site.

Fleas,
we have dealt with you and your kind since the beginning of the summer. Now because we have tried everything and nothing has worked, I am possibly bringing you fuckers with me to school this Saturday. I really don't want to have to explain this to the roommate. Also, you are making my diabetic... Yes DIABETIC cat scratch at himself so much, he has sores!!! I am scared he is going to get infected. We have tried everything we can. So, now I hope you will realise oh little bugs, that when I return to school and have money in my bank account (if I open one in time) I will be purchasing the stuff needed to kill you off of my cats. Kind of an intro.

I guess this counts as my intro post. I have no clue what to post about other than the following:
I'm 23, I turn 24 in October. I'm in a committed relationship with someone and we've been together for almost 5 years (Sept will be 5 years)
I'm graduating from SUNY Fredonia (or Fredonia State) in December.
I'm a Political Science major, concentrating in Comparative Politics/Finnish Social Policy.
I'm a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, just with less crazy.
My "child" is my 14yr old male orange and white diabetic cat, named Elijah.
I'm a Pagan (hence the name of blog)
Insert more stuff

I guess I'll just use this as another outlet for me to talk of things. Also, I figure I will add some stuff about food. I like to cook, my brother is a chef. So, cooking runs in my family.
I may use this as an outlet of stuff:
Cooking/using Michael as a guinea pig (Michael is my boyfriend- I will refer to him as Mike as well), results of that.

Oh because of my concentration in school. Please bear in mind, I may randomly post something in Finnish, about Finland, etc. I will also warn you, I'm in the middle of learning written Finnish and some spoken. So, my posts may be confusing. Don't worry, I can provide a rough translation.
